Pick the seat, not the bus
Lower berths between the axles ride smoothest. Avoid the last two rows and anything directly over a wheel arch — that's where road noise and vertical movement peak.
Boarding points are not equal
A boarding point 40 minutes earlier on the route means 40 more minutes of city traffic while you're trying to sleep. Choose the last practical pickup before the highway.
Read the operator, not the star rating
Look for consistent departure punctuality across reviews. Operators that leave on time tend to be the ones that maintain their fleets.
